Inconel 625 is a solution strengthened alloy, which means the base alloy will be modified when an alloying element will be added to its crystalline lattice to form something referred to as a solid solution. In the case of Inconel 625 Pipe Fittings material, the matrix is stiffened by the addition of niobium, which is the alloying element, thus forming a solution strengthened alloy. A benefit of using solution strengthened alloys such as the nickel alloy Inconel 625 Short/ Long Radius Elbows is that due to the stiffening of the matrix, plastic deformation due to external loads or stresses becomes difficult. Hence the material is known to have a higher tensile strength with outstanding mechanical properties.

ASTM B366 UNS N06625 Elbow
Nickel Alloy 625 Pipe End Caps
Classified as a superalloy, the Nickel Alloy 625 Socket Weld or Threaded Forged Fittings have high toughness and have higher fatigue resistance properties compared to several conventional stainless steel alloys. Usually, superalloys are also known as high performance alloys, because they are well suited to withstand elevated temperature settings without any loss to their mechanical strength. In addition to demonstrating excellent resistance towards both pitting as well as crevice corrosion, the UNS N06625 Pipe End Caps and 2.4856 Buttweld Tee has outstanding immunity to stress related corrosion cracking due to the presence of chloride ions.
When exposed to several inorganic acids including phosphoric acid, sulfuric acid, nitric acid, hydrochloric acid, the UNS N06625 Nickel Alloy 625 Elbow can resist corrosion. Furthermore, in alkylation units in the petroleum industry, where both sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid are used together, the Nickel Alloy 625 Buttweld Fittings is one of the best suited materials for conversion of alkylates.
