Aluminium is a metal that is light in weight and is very ductile. Therefore, several engineers, designers as well as any Aluminium Flanges Manufacturer can manipulate the material in such a manner that it works well for the application. Because the material is ductile it could be formed into variously shaped components such as the ASTM B247 UNS A93003 Blind Flange. Components produced under specification ASTM B247, are required to undergo certain tempers, in addition to any forging process.

Moreover, this specification also makes provisions for the forged Alloy 6082/ 5083 Slip on Flange to undergo certain tests including tension and hardness tests, chemical analysis, heat treatment, heat treat response, as well as tests such as stress corrosion resistance & a stress corrosion cracking test. With superior corrosion resistance properties, aluminum alloys tend to exhibit moderate tensile strength. Since the material cannot be treated using heat, the strength of Class 150/ 300 LBS UNS A96061/ A96082 flange is derived by cold working the material.
Cold working this material gives it a much better surface finish. Moreover, because the Aluminium 6061 Plate Flange is cold worked, the metal tends to have higher dimensional control. Hence, the directional characteristics can be extended into the metal. Lastly, the main advantage of using a cold working strengthening process is that the contamination problems associated with hot working the 3003-H112 and 6061-T6 Weld Neck Flange are minimized.
