A tungsten containing nickel alloy, Hastelloy flanges are suited for use in highly oxidizing environments. Although the oxidation resistance of the ASME SB564 N10276 BLRF Flange functions well up to a temperature of 1800°F, most manufacturers do not recommend using the Hastelloy alloy C-276 is for applications involved at elevated temperatures. In addition to improving the alloys wear resistance properties, the addition of tungsten in the alloy prevents the sensitization at the grain boundary. Hence, the rate of intergranular corrosion on the heat affected weld zone or the HAZ of the Hastelloy Flanges remains relatively low.

Nickel Alloy C276 Slip On Flange
In addition to tungsten, the chemistry of the alloy contains a low level of carbon. The benefit of using a low carbon alloy like Nickel Alloy C276 Slip On Flange is that there is no formation of carbide precipitates. The production of carbides on any steels makes it vulnerable to corrosion. Being a nickel alloy, the commonality of traits with other nickel alloys includes superior resistance to corrosion in reducing media, as well as resistance to brine and salt solutions.
The material for Hastelloy C276 Flanges also exhibits resistance to sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, and oxidizing chlorides. Though the common characteristics of this nickel alloyed WNR 2.4819 Weld Neck Flange includes extraordinary immunity to crevice corrosion along with stress induced corrosion cracking, and chloride pitting, the alloy is not limited to resistance against media such as wet chlorine gas, hypochlorite, as well as chlorine dioxide. The alloy also contains an addition of cobalt which makes the material resistant to wear, while also improving the high temperature strength of the uns n10276 Blind flange.
